Gold Class investigated what happened to the brightness of a bulb when more and more cells were added. To the class’ delight, after 6 cells where added, the bulb overheated and popped!

Bluebell and Dahlia had a fantastic time in the science session led by Illumina on Tuesday afternoon, learning about DNA and how to extract it from a strawberry! There was a lot of excitement and talking for learning within the room!
In Thistle we have been learning what plants need in order to grow, and preparing scientific tests to find out the best conditions for cress seeds to grow in.

Thistle Class have been learning about the weather in Science: learning to use weather tools; observing changes in the seasons; measuring precipitation; and identifying types of clouds.

In Science this week, Thistle Class have been learning how the senses of taste and smell work together to help us eat and keep us healthy. We learned about the digestive process and performed sniff/taste tests in class.
In Thistle Class, we have been learning about the Human Body. We have learned about the 5 senses and the body parts each of them are linked too. We also listened to the dancing bones song to learn the name of important bones in our skeleton, and identified them on a model skeleton.
In our learning about Light, Bluebell Class explored how reflections change in plane, concave and convex mirrors and how the length of shadows change during a morning.
Daffodil Class have been naming the different parts of the body.
Bluebell Class talked about how the smell and sight of popcorn caused us to produce saliva, before thinking carefully about the function of our different types of teeth as we ate it. We looked at our teeth in mirrors (naming incisors, canines, pre-molars and molars) and discussed which were currently wobbly, missing or growing! Jayden, Harry and Lauren brought in some very sharp shark teeth for us to look at under the visualiser, too!
