Healthy Week 2023: Healthy Lifestyles involve Reading! Resilient Reading Legend
We delivered our penultimate (fourth of five) Core Value Reading Legends in school – with a focus on resilience around reading: children being taught and practising stamina for reading, including heightening their knowledge of different genres and authors. We even had the local Earith Book Club visit, who ,in advance, had read many of the titles our children have studied as part of the curriculum in order to lead engaging book discussions – fabulous.
This year’s Healthy Week was yet another action-packed affair
Our children know the importance of leading healthy lifestyles. Our annual Healthy Week in school just elevates this importance.
Children across classes made pizzas from scratch with Caterlink; our Kickstart Premier Sports fundraising event was launched and children benefited from time in our pool with swimming lessons from our in-house swimming instructor.
Further excitement with Dance and Pilates sessions with CambsFit, not to mention lunch outside on the field before our Annual Sports Day, where children competed well and with excellent comradery – as did the parents! Children also gave a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, followed by The Earith Primary School Song 2.
Friday saw our celebration assembly and a chance to view the Coronation Quilt, which is on tour – our pupils from Sewing Club have contributed to this, with their beautifully regal patches.
Active board games, meditation, mindfulness colouring and more music…what better way to finish off the week’s activity than with a well-deserved sweet treat, courtesy of our parents and Friends of Earith School at one of their school bake sales.
Responsible, Reflective, Resilient, Resourceful & Ready:
Thank You to all the staff, parents and of course, children for their active contributions and commitment to our Core Values this week. Additional thanks for all the positive commentary regarding Sports Day – it was lovely to see you all in such high attendance.
