Dear Parents,

Like you, I too have been listening to the media around the speculation of whether all schools in Tier 4 areas will close or not. I have been in close contact with the Trust and more recently by telephone this evening.

As you know, as it stands, the school is due to reopen on Tuesday morning, adhering to the same standard of enhanced cleaning regimes and protective measures we have already put in place. On Monday, we have staff training where, once again, this will be reviewed in order to provide the safest possible return for our pupils.

I understand that many of you will have concerns given the raise of infection rates and what would happen should you decide to keep your child off school. I will seek to provide you with further information and clarification around this, and any other matters which arise as I have them.

In the meantime, I am thinking of you all and wish you all good health.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Abbs

UPDATE 11.05.20

On Sunday 10th May, the government set out the next steps in England’s COVID-19 response.

Ever since Earith Primary School closed on Monday 23rd March we have been working on a plan to ensure that when we start to re-open it will be within a safe environment for pupils and staff.

The plan is for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 to return first on Monday 1st June, after half term. The government is still to announce when it is planned for other year groups to return.

We look forward to seeing our students return to school and we will continue to ensure everything is ready and safe for their return.

For the remainder of this month pupils will stay at home for classes, unless their parents are classified as ‘key workers’. For full and current information on COVID-19, please visit: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19
