Earith Primary School

Homework Procedures

At Earith Primary School, we recognise that you as parents will want to support your child in their learning. Taking into account the current educational research on what has impact, and your busy lives, we will now actively promote you support your child at home for 5-10 minutes every night as a minimum. For those children who wish to do more, fantastic!

Here is our homework offer to enable you to reinforce key skills at home:

shed

Spelling Shed: weekly spelling assignments and access to the games set – this has had statistical impact, for those children using it, since its implementation during Lockdown.

TYMTR Rapid

Teach Your Monster to Read & Rapid Phonics: acquisition of phonics/early reading books/games.

Numbots rockstars

Numbots and TT Rockstars: number bonds and times table rehearsal.

Pixl

PiXL Times Tables: practice your times tables.

All of the above require a device of some kind to access – we are only encouraging 5-10 minutes screen time a night! If you do not have access to a device, it doesn’t matter – you can still support your child in rehearsing any of the aforementioned skills using pencil, paper and practical resources.

There is also Mr Abbs’ ‘Read Recommended…Read Widely…Read Often’ awards see here where you can still continue to email him with all the extra reading of quality books your children are reading at home. Daily reading is highly recommended, with the option of changing phonically matched/decodable books in school and access to our school library, for any child that wants to take books home.

For other/foundation subjects, please visit the Curriculum tab on our website where we append Curriculum Newsletters and Knowledge Organisers for some of our subjects each half/term. These will help reinforce areas of the curriculum covered/to be covered.

If you do not have any of the logins you require, please contact the school office who can support you with this. There is no longer any need for you to submit work using Google Classrooms as we are able to track usage/progress across the school on our e-platforms.

If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate in contacting me at the school.
