The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum to provide, substantial funding for Primary Schools. The Olympic Legacy funding for Physical Education and School Sport must only be spent on PE and Sport, with the discretion of how this is achieved with the Headteacher, PE Coordinator and Governors. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
The link below is an outline of what we have/ we intend to spend the money on. Please note that this funding runs for the academic year and not the financial year.
Varied impact - exposing children to a variety of sports, developing competitive skills – playing other schools, raises self-esteem of children who find learning difficult, general fitness of children, giving children who would otherwise not have access to sporting clubs due to financial restrictions.
