We believe that cooking is a core life skill and our aim is to give everyone the opportunity to learn to cook and enjoy good food.

Cooking club is run by Mrs Rudwick, Mrs Watson and Mrs Wardell for KS2 pupils.

This was our last week with this group.  We made the unusual savoury flapjack with grated cheese and carrot – which smelt and tasted delicious.  We also cooked Leek and Pasta Bake – very tasty.  Back after half term with a new group of children.

 Week 3 and we cooked chilli beef wraps and a saffron-spiced rice pudding.  The pudding took us a lot longer than we thought, but it was really tasty.

This week we cooked a Paprika Chicken Stew with Herby Dumplings.  It was delicious and we were very impressed with the dumplings.  We also made a very seasonal apple and blackberry (picked locally) crumble. The children couldnt wait for it to come out the oven!

 We started a brand new Cooking Club this week with some new Year 3s.  They cooked Mulligatawny soup, soda bread and baked apples.  We saw some excellent knife skills and they even washed up beautifully.

Our last week for Cooking Club and the very last time for this year’s Year 6s.  We had a very special session as we were cooking for our guests.  They were served Mozzarella and red pepper tarts, roast potato wedges with coleslaw.  This was followed by a cup of tea or coffee served with shortbread. They all seemed very happy with their meal.  Thank you to everyone who has supported the cooking club over this last year.  Watch out for the letter next term and come and join us.

 It was takeaway this week – Vegetable Chow Mein, Szechuan Pork and egg fried rice.  There was a lot of chopping and preparation involved but the end result was not only very colourful but tasted lovely.  Next week we are preparing our special meal for the Mums.

This week at Cooking Club we made Cottage Pie with a parsnip mash topping, accompanied by spicy potatoes and spinach.  For pudding we made a pineapple upside down pudding.  We are planning a special meal for our Cooking Club parents, Mrs Pritchard and Mrs Lawrence for the last session this term.  Keep an eye out for the photographs.

Our first week back to cooking club, but sadly the last sessions for our Year 6s this year.  This week we made a delicious sweet and sour pork, egg fried rice and finished with a lovely summery tutti-fruity crumble.  Watch out for the end of these sessions, as we are planning a special event.
