They enjoyed listening to and reciting Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see?
This week they have been using the text Polar Bear Polar Bear What do you hear?
The children have watched clips of Eric Carle creating his art work using collage. They are very eager to start creating their own collages! Watch this space!

The children have continued their work based on Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus.
They have explored the ways the dinosaurs moved in the story and thought about the sounds they might make too.
They used this to create their own poems about the dinosaurs. Look out for a selection of them in our class assembly next week.
In maths the children have continued to work on fractions, sharing amounts fairly and choosing the resources they would use to help them solve problems. It was great to see the children discussing and evaluating their ideas and approaches together.
In art the children have continued to use the skills they have learnt in mixing colours.
Our work this week has been based on the book called Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus. It is written in rhyme and the children have been learning the repeated rhyme and then changing some of the words to make their own rhyme. They have been identifying alliteration in the text too and writing their own alliterative phrases.
In maths we have been continuing our work on fractions finding halves, quarters and three quarters of shapes and amounts.
In art the children have learnt how to make a colour lighter by adding white and have been exploring how to make different shades of one colour.
The children really enjoyed working with Darcy Turner to create a dinosaur. They cooperated with each other to roll the paper and attach it to the dinosaur sculpture.
The children have begun their work on poetry by learning to recite rhymes. They worked in groups to learn their poem and then performed it to the rest of the class with actions.
